October in Black and White

I got myself some black and white film (for a ridiculous price, I might add. Anyone have anywhere I can buy cheaper film at?) and fell in love. I adore black and white, period, but there is something about it with film that you can't quite capture with a digital or a photo-editing program.

(P.S. I didn't post all the black and whites I took simply because some people would not appreciate it)

My New Baby - Canon EOS Rebel K2

I finally got a 35mm camera! I was so psyched when I bought it for $179.00, normally close to $400.00 ;]

Here are some of the shots I've taken with it (so far). I know I have quite a bit to learn, but these are just play around shots.

An Old Friend – Early Summer, 2007

This picture was taken at a friend’s house in 2007. It is one of my favorite photos simply because it is so dreamy with an almost haunting twist. I got many really wonderful shots that day, and even connected quite a few to make a photo strip!
The photo is my favorite because of the hand in the photo together with the flowing weed; the hand seems graceful, which adds a unique, almost vintage touch to it.

His Favorite – February 12th, 2009

This image is of my very first rose bouquet :] Kevin gave it to me for Valentine’s day this year.
This one is one of his favorite photos because it is beautiful in his eyes. He loves it because it shows mystery and love. He views it as something that makes you look for the love within the image.
